Putting each instrument in its place
Every instrument has a natural “home” in any given group in any given song. Each time an instrument is added, your home will need to shift. Your home will also shift depending on what you’re trying to achieve with the song. To find your home (and let other people find their home) you need to be flexible:
1. Don’t play all the time
2. Don’t play the same thing all the time
Keep those principles in mind as we think about the place of different instruments:
